Hydrological Network established with the support of World Bank during the
Period 1983-1993. 60 Nos. Gauge and discharge stations established
covering Mahanadi and Godavari Basin. One divisional office at Raipur and
Three Sub Divisional offices at Raipur, Jagdalpur and Balaghat were
established for the work of Mahanadi and Godavari Basin. After formation
of New Chhattisgarh State work of Balaghat Sub Divisional office (Covering
dist Balaghat, Seoni and Chhindwara) handed over to Madhya Pradesh.
Project Phase-I, period 1995-2003, new observation station's established
including 28 Gauge-discharge site, 38 SRG, 30 ARG, 9 W.Q. Labs, 2 FCS. At
present, One Divisional Office at Raipur and 5 Sub Divisional offices at
Raipur, Bilaspur, Ambikapur & Jagdalpur (2 No.) are working. Data
Center of sub division, Division and State level established for data
observation, entry, validation, processing, completion, storage and
dissimilation work. Staff under the project trained for data observation,
entry & validation, storage & dissemination work.
Phase-II (2006-2012) is a follow on project covering institutional
strengthening covering upgrading existing Hydrological information System
(HIS) and under vertical Extension hydrological design Aid, Purpose driven
studies and Decision Support System is proposed for further strengthening.
